I’m so excited it’s summer! Even though in Houston we don’t really have seasons – meaning we tend to go from COLD to HOT with very little in-between – the calendar reminds me that it’s summer time, a time to slow down and enjoy the long lazy days of sunshine. I’m so looking forward to a few long weekends with the kiddos, being beside some form of water, summer reading and catching up with friends.

As we help customers in the store, we are so excited to see all the items people are selecting for their lake houses and beach houses. Some people dare to add color in these more casual, fun spaces, while other customers indulge their love for bleached and tone-on-tone palettes which are also so soothing next to water. Strolling through the shop today, I wanted to share some of my favorite lake house and beach house inspired pieces!

I. Am. In. Love. Seriously, I love these sea sprays! They look so peaceful and serene and just take you away for a moment.

Take a look at this big one – what a statement piece for any beach or lake house!

I’m really loving these horse prints – last time we wrote about our love for dogs, but truly I’m an all-round animal lover. For those of you that love horses, this would be such in inspiring piece of art for your walls.

I’m crazy for these colorful pillows! Often we tend to go more neutral and subtle in our main house decor, so it’s fun to explore color in this context, especially in small accents!

And for those who love that beach glass color: you’ll love these soft, pale sea-green colored pillows.

And speaking of color, I love these colorful painted pieces of furniture. Great accent pieces.

I especially love this deep rich blue commode for a lake house bedroom or foyer.

And let’s not forget lake- and water-inspired art.
